More weekend later
Weekend stuff will be posted later. I just woke up. However, for those of you in the area and interested...
FESTIVAL de PIRATAS V -- Saturday August 28th at 7:30
The grand staircase and velvet curtains of The Bossanova will add a
touch of elegance to an evening otherwise rife with costumed nautical nonsense
and buccaneerin' tunes by Sunken Chest, Pirate Jenny Duo, Flat Mountain
Girls, and Captain Bogg & Salty. This year we proudly welcome from Los Angeles
the Ben Gunn Society, whose songs chronicle the adventures of the
cheese-crazy pirate from "Treasure Island." http://www.bengunnsociety.com
In an ongoing tradition of outlandish emcees, this year¹s master of
ceremonies will be Mermaid Keilanna Delanna Nanna, portrayed by local
actor and comic Heather Nelson Robertson.
You'll also have the opportunity to join a crew or get outfitted at the
festival's buccaneer market, with displays by Brotherhood of Oceanic
Mercenaries (BOOM), Captain Jack¹s Pirate Hats, Captain Quicksilver¹s
Pirate Pots, and John "Ol' Chumbucket" Baur, co-creator of "Talk Like a Pirate
Day."
