Today has, thankfully, followed in the tradition of the previous days of this week. It's been a pretty nifty and interesting day thus far. I got up at about 8 this morning, and went over to Katrina's new place to hang out and things of that ilk. Honestly, it's a pretty nice place. She and her boyfriend have a little duplex that was built in the 1920s, and many of the fixtures are still original. They've got an awesome footed bathtub, for example. All in all, pretty swanky digs. We hung out for a few hours, going back and forth between listening to Ween and Voltaire, having raw carrots, and unpacking boxes. Plus, I helped her to put some nifty bumper stickers on her car, including the Cruxshadows sticker that Tyson gave her.
After she left for work, I hoofed it to the Daily Grind, which is farther away from her place than I thought it was (she's on SE 24th). But I got a good walk out of it, as well as some organic produce and a brand new bottle of my favorite all-natural, homemade conditioner. It's a little over $7 a bottle, so I buy one each of the shampoo and the conditioner (with real jasmine essential oil in it!), then use it only for very special occasions. I was greatly tempted to stop in at the global imports store and spend roughly $50 or so just on Day of the Dead things, but resisted the temptation. Thankfully.
Pioneer Courthouse Square around 5 p.m. or so was quite interesting. There was a fellow playing a balalaika down on one end of the square, and a punk-ish looking fellow of about my age carrying one of those full-sized wooden crosses silently around the square. There was also an incredibly tall and beautiful African-American fellow with a lovely smile and well-cared-for dreadlocks who's originally from Georgia, and is going to PSU to get his degree in Urban Planning. The MAX was quite crowded, because not only was it rush hour, but all of the trains were running behind schedule for some unknown reason. I ended up acting as a handhold for the lady next to me. She wasn't within reach of any of the handholds, and I offered my arm. She took it, and we stood and talked until we both got off at Beaverton. Turns out, she works at Western Culinary Institute.
One thing that I haven't figured out yet is the fascination that Katrina has expressed recently in the goings-on in Vampire game. She has no intentions of joining to the best of my knowledge, and it can't be that interesting, can it? I mean, it's a lot of fun to play in, but a lot of the stuff, you sort of had to be there for. It just confuses me a bit, I guess.
