This year for Halloween, I gave in to an idea that I've had for while now, and dressed up as a mad scientist, inspired by Girl Genius. I bought the laboratory goggles from them in September, and built a costume around the idea.

We started taking pictures from the bottom layer up. My boyfriend
wyrmul did my hair. The chemise and drawers I made myself.

The goggles were ordered from the Girl Genius online store, the stockings were acquired at an SCA event, and the boots are from Big Five, my local sporting goods store. The corset is made by Versatile Fashions, and was bought from
mysticnightsky in a sales post on
fatshionista a while back.

The gerbil technically isn't from Girl Genius. He's from Narbonic, which still involves mad science.

The blouse was found at Goodwill many, many years ago, and the skirt is homemade.

The tool belts were found at Goodwill sans lace and bleached-in designs, which were added by me.

The necklace and earrings are all made by me as well, and the brooch is a yardsale find.

The glasses are antique frames that I've had lenses with my prescription put into. The goggles fit over them perfectly.
So what's next? Well, a friend and I are considering the possibility of putting together a female Jager squad for the next con we go to...
