Good reads!
May. 8th, 2009 08:38 pmAnd, fulfilling my duty as a library employee, I thought that I'd share a couple of things that I've been re-reading lately, in the hopes that someone might find them amusing.
In terms of comics online, the one that I'm in the middle of happily going through all over again is Elfquest. The characters, the plot, everything is just so wonderful about this comic. You owe it to yourself to read it if you haven't already. Seriously. Go give Wendy and Richard some love.
Or, if you're in a more existential mood, and want to read something that makes Molly laugh like the crazy woman that she is even when she's not overtired, check out Garfield Minus Garfield.
Want some (intentionally) hilarious Victorian writing? Check out Jerome K. Jerome's Idle Thoughts of an Idle Fellow on Project Gutenberg. I promise you, he's worth it a thousand times over. "On Love" is my favorite essay in the book but "On Being Hard Up" and "On Being In the Blues" are close seconds. And then, if you like that, check out his sequel, Second Thoughts of an Idle Fellow, as well as its imitator, Lazy Thoughts of a Lazy Girl. I love his writing so much!
