I'm really proud of how these came out. And hopefully, there'll be more to come in the near future, once I get costuming pieces done. I'm using letting myself draw as a reward for getting costuming done at the moment.
Well, I do have a couple of little chibi doodles of two of the three over on my DeviantArt account, but I am, indeed, seriously lacking in the Oggie department! I'll get on that some time this afternoon.
Awww, that would be adorable! I've got a partial one up in my DeviantArt gallery (though it's mostly Maxim): here (http://sheilathejaffa.deviantart.com/art/quot-Iz-MY-Dimo-quot-103024809).
I'd love to see you do one of him! That would be made of win! If you're looking for pictures of him, he starts appearing in the comic pretty regularly in book 4. If you go to Girl Genius (http://www.girlgenius.net) and click on the drop-down chapter menu, he begins appearing in the chapter "Hanging Jagers in Town".
Heh . . . I keep picturing a pic of Dimo with Quin on his shoulder... XD Hell, I think even a "normal" pick of that would be cute.
*nodnodnod* Got other things I really /should/ try to catch up on today first, but I'll have to see about tackling that tomorrow. Mind you, I've never /done/ chibi's, but . . . heh, maybe I can pull something off. ^,^;;;;
Looking again at the Jenka above reminds me, though - been talking with her mun (\o/) and had commented that I'd be interested in seeing some interaction with her and Quin - mun's been following the Quin/Dimo convos LOL She's suggested having Quin come over to the 4423 to visit. You game? =D;;;;
*eyes you in mock annoyance* I blame /you/ for this. XD
Actually, I blame both of you. *eyes singswithtrees too*
... ...... ...
*has spent the past God-only-knows-how-many-hours reading GG, decides to take a break now that there's an obvious one in the story* Agatha and....um, the cat, just through Jerk-off over the side of the airship after escaping from the baron and are headed......somewhere. Mechanicsberg, I guess. Or Castle Heterodyne. Which are the same place? Iono. REALLY ENJOYING . . . but I've only gotten through two years TT~TT (late 2004) I gots a LONG way to go. 9,9;;;;
Anyway, will work on hunting up some good Dimo pics to use. *is looking forward to this!*
You know, I only got into GG around Christmas, and read all of it in two days straight. I'm surprised the neighbors weren't complaining about all the laughing! :D
Castle Heterodyne is in the city of Mechanicsburg, yes.
LOL . . . yep, guess so. XD The Jager trio especially crack me up!
Been reading most the day, when I was /going/ to get caught up on SkyTides! /Yesterday/, actually. Heh... I'm about half-way through, I think. Just finished Vol 5, figured I'd better get back to the comm before I get kicked out for inactivity or something. TT~TT *headdesking cuz it /would/ just be her luck too...*
*puts aside /reading/ the comic to try to find Dimo to draw...realizes she's almost there anyway* \o/
I'm at the chapter where Agatha is given "Baba Yaga" - had to quit, it was almost 3a! - and I about DIED! *goes now to dig out her Hellboy comics...can't find the right volume* Damn. *shakes fist at volumes* Why can't you have a table of contents at the fronts of your books!? *whines* ....eheh, anyway... I had to laugh cuz I know where the comic authors got the idea for the chicken-legged house! There's an old Russian folk myth about a hag, known at the Baba Yaga, who flies around on...damn, something unusual, can't remember what, but it's not a broom or a boat oar or anything like that. She calls out the dead in cemeteries, having the corpses hold up their hands, and she counts fingers all night. BZUH?! Yeah, go figure. Anyway, in one of the stories, Hellboy is in Russia and he runs across her and they fight. He doesn't manage to kill her, but a shot from his gun takes out her left eye. She was so FURIOUS that /everyone/ in the surrounding country within "her" territory mysteriously lost their left eyes. But also, before that...or at some point in the story (been almost a year now since I read it)...Hellboy had a run-in with her home (which is also straight out of the Russian folklore) which is this smallish cottage that's a /lot/ bigger on the inside, runs around on 8-10-feet-tall chicken legs and /does/ have a mind of its own. It's actually very dangerous, sometimes sitting on the ground looking like a normal house and luring some weary, unwary traveler inside....the unfortunate finds himself /way/ far off course the next morning.../if/ he escapes at all.
Aaaand, I've rambled. S-sorry. I've been really enjoying GG, from the smart storytelling and awesome dialogue and comebacks to the little tidbits of things that get worked into the story. Like the Baba Yaga's home. XD */end Hellboy geek*
And . . . wow, I'm actually /really/ close to that chapter! *keeps reading and will start pulling images as she gets to them* \o/
Hey, no problem! Rambling is perfectly fine. I know that I get the same way when I discover something new that I'm really, really enjoying. ^_^ I was doing the same thing to anyone who would listen when I first started reading Girl Genius two years ago or so. It's my favorite these days, out of a whole lot of favorites.
Ooo, Hellboy! I really need to read more of that. I love Mignola's work, and I've read the first book, along with The Amazing Screw-On Head, so I should really, really pick it up. *adds to long reading list* And yes, Baba Yaga flew about in a mortar and pestle. *is a folklore and mythology nerd as well*
It's my favorite these days, out of a whole lot of favorites.
LOL I can see why! YGO still and always /will/ own my soul, but this really is an amazing story full of more twists and surprises than one could /ever/ hope for. The storytelling is strong, the artwork is /gorgeous/, the cast is....large to the point it's sometimes hard to remember who someone is but that's okay, the characters themselves are rich and well-rounded, and the humor.....oh GAWD the /humor/!!! XDDDDD
THAT WAS IT! A mortar and pestle! that's right . . . and YES! Must read more Hellboy! Hellboy is LOVE! Yami from Yu-Gi-Oh! is my next application...erm, r-re...application, if you've read my WTFery post from last week. *HEADDESKS, /despises/ being female more often than not T~T* Anyway . . . Yami's the one I'm currently working on have let into the game, but my eye is set on Hellboy as an eventual #3. ^,^;;;
Heh . . . the finger-counting thing may have been a uniquely quirky!Mignola twist. XD
She's also said to eat children. And she can be helpful sometimes, for a price.
Heh . . . not surprising. And I'll bet. *tries to remember the price she demanded of Rasputin...can't remember...9,9* Argh. Need to get back to reading all those again.
